If your appointments per 1,000 are below benchmark after six months

It happens, and it is resolvable. It is almost always a data, strategy or angle problem, not a dead campaign. Here is exactly how we go about finding it.

How we go about it

1. Data audit

Before anything else we interrogate the list itself.

  • Sector and geography concentration. Is the book unintentionally heavy on one sector in one place, Finance in parts of London for instance? A concentrated list behaves very differently from a spread one.
  • Deliverability audit. Some sectors restrict inbound email hard, solicitors and banking in particular. We check whether anything about the data itself is suppressing delivery before we blame the message.

2. Messaging review

With the data audit in hand, the message gets re-examined, or the data does.

  • Review the messaging in light of what the data audit found.
  • Or pivot the data instead. Sometimes the message is right and the audience is not.

3. Channel by channel

Each channel gets worked for clues by someone who knows what they are looking at.

  • Calling. A specialist caller spends dedicated time on your data hunting for clues.
  • Reception detective work. That includes calling switchboards: who actually decides, who has left, whether the org even looks like our assumption.
  • Email audit, in detail. Soft bounces and policy blocks separated properly: are the details wrong, or is the organisation’s policy blocking us? And replies read closely for conversational clues.
  • LinkedIn, if active. Conversations read for the same clues.

4. Scenario analysis: is there success inside the failure?

Weak overall numbers often hide a pocket that is working.

  • If manufacturing converted at 4% while everything else sat at 0.5%, the question becomes: is there enough manufacturing data available to pivot straight into the part that already works?

5. It is resolvable

This is a solvable class of problem, and we have solved it before.

  • One client outside the MSP sector was targeting the wrong job title entirely. Moving the target to Client Success Director turned a flat campaign into a winning model. Same product, same message, different chair.
